Pilots Women's Soccer Sign Niverville High School Panther Samantha Moffit

The Niverville resident signed her letter of intent last week to play women's college soccer at Providence University College next season.
"I’m very excited to be part of the Prov community for multiple reasons. One being that it is a Christ centered environment which is very important to me, as well as being able to play the sport I love, soccer," said Moffit.

The center midfielder is not afraid to use her body and is known for her aggressive play, which will be an easy transition for her next year when the Pilots return to play in the NCCAA North Region in the USA league. Moffit strengths are her competitiveness, motivation and determination on and off the pitch. She has been awarded best midfielder for her high school team the past two seasons where she also is a captain.

This past season Moffit was part of the Zone Championship team in Niverville, but they were unable to compete for the provincial championship due to Covid-19 restrictions cancelling the last part of their season. Off the pitch, she is also an honour roll student and comes to Providence to study social sciences.

Moffit is heavily involved in her home church Niverville, Word of Life, and plays in the worship band there. She also has helped in the youth Sunday school program.

"We are really excited to have Samantha join our Providence community,” said head coach Tory Walker, "After getting to know her we knew we wanted her on our team. She has a strong passion for service, good relationships and strong community which are things we look for in players. And of course, she comes highly recommended as a great player. We think Samantha will fit in well with our team and we are excited to have her join as our fifth signing of 2022."

Welcome to the Pilot family Samantha!
