About Us

Every year, about 100 varsity student-athletes put on the Providence blue, bringing their talents, character, work ethic and leadership to an athletic program anchored in the Christian faith.

Leagues

Providence is a proud member of the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) and is the only Canadian team in the North Region of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division II. The NCCAA is an American-based association with 105 schools from across the United States. The winner of the North Region for each sport continues on to compete in the US National Championships, which bring together all the conference winners. All of our teams, with the exception of our men's volleyball team, compete in this association. The MCAC is a Manitoba association which provides quality athletic competition for colleges within Manitoba. The MCAC offers a wide variety competition in varsity and club-level sports including volleyball, basketball, soccer and futsal.

Recreation

Learn a new sport, meet new friends or improve your skills by joining in some of our recreational activities! Intramural and club programs are offered for the purpose of facilitating fun, physical health and fitness, spiritual maturity and social interaction at a non-varsity level. There are opportunities throughout the school year to participate in intramurals such as ultimate frisbee, floor hockey and indoor soccer. Providence also has one of the two certified disc golf courses in Manitoba that covers a large portion of campus and offers a fun and relaxing way to be outside (score card and map).

Fitness Centre

Stay fit during the semester! Our fitness facility includes cardio and strength equipment, free weights, exercise balls and mats and a semi-private aerobics area. Membership to the Fitness Centre is included in your students fees so all registered students at Providence have access, however, students need to sign a Waiver and Membership Agreement Form prior to using the facilities which can be completed in the Business Office. Once those are signed, you will receive your own personal FOB that will grant you access to the Fitness Centre. For further information please contact our Director of Athletics
