OVERNIGHT DAY CAMP DETAILS
Providence Sports Camps are designed for all skill levels, providing athletes with 5 hours of court time per day in skill sessions + game play. Our skill sessions are led by high-level feature instructors, including our university Coaches, and your game play will be coached by our university athletes!

But Providence Sports Camps are so much more than that. Open to all faith and religious backgrounds, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow in your understanding of the Bible and how Jesus can impact the way you play.

Not excited yet? Check out what past campers have to say about our Sports Camps:

“As a high school student, I found that Prov sports camp was a great place to grow in both faith and skill, and I was fortunate to meet friends that I could, and still do, connect with. It was during my time at Prov that I also learned about the unique relationship between faith and sport.” - Christopher Dick, Sports Camps and MBB alumni

“Prov sports camps were always a highlight of my summers. From the on-court session to the time spent growing in my faith. The coaches were great examples of how faith and sport can come together. The memories and friendships I made have lasted long after being a camper.” - Morgan Thiessen, Senior Setter for the Women’s Volleyball Team

“I attended three years of Providence Sports camps and had an amazing experience! I really enjoyed the daily soccer sessions and chapels, as it was great to improve my skills at a place where both sports and a relationship with Christ are encouraged. Through my time at the camp, I found a great place to attend and play college soccer as well as continue to grow in my faith.” - Paige Heide, Junior Defender for the Women’s Soccer Team

All overnight campers will stay in the college dormitories on campus. Boys and girls are housed separately, and each room has two beds, two desks, a large closet and a three-piece washroom. All of our dormitories are supervised by the camp coaches.
Each room houses two campers (a maximum of three is allowed upon request. However, the third camper will sleep on a floor mattress). If there are roommate changes, please contact us at sportscamps@prov.ca. A maximum of two roommate changes is allowed, and changes will not be finalized until we have received approval from all parties involved. There are no guarantees, but we will do our best to accommodate any roommate requests. We reserve the right to place campers in rooms that best suit the accommodation needs of the camp.

Camp for soccer day campers will take place on the Providence men’s & women’s main soccer field directly across the street from the campus. Every camper should wear appropriate soccer cleats, socks and shin guards.

Water will be provided at the field, but Gatorade is also suggested along with your own water bottles.

What to Bring

  • Sleeping bag (or bedding for a single bed)
  • Pillow
  • Plenty of gym clothes and socks (no laundry will be done during the week)
  • Proper sports shoes + an extra pair
  • Water bottle
  • Hat for outside activities
  • Athletic outdoor clothes/shoes that can get dirty
  • Sunscreen/bug spray
  • Towel(s) + Toiletries (Shampoo, soap, etc.)
  • Alarm clock
  • Flashlight
  • Fan (highly recommended as rooms are NOT air-conditioned)
  • Bible, pen and paper
  • Hangers for the closets
  • Specific medical information
  • Pajamas/comfortable attire/slippers
  • Spending money (meals are provided, but campers may choose to bring money for snacks which can be purchased from vending machines. We suggest no more than $20)

Do NOT Bring

  • * Cell phones
  • Laptop & Video games Stereo, Bluetooth/portable speakers
  • ** Alcohol, drugs, tobacco
  • *** Personal vehicle

* We ask that campers leave their cell phones at home. If found, phones will be confiscated and returned at the end of the week. If a camper needs to call home for any reason we will set them up with phone access. We have a landline and our coaches carry cell phones in case of emergency. Parents are welcome to call our Sports Camp Coordinator at any point during business hours if they would like to talk with their camper.

** Alcohol, drugs and tobacco are not allowed on campus at any time. Anyone found to be in possession will have the items confiscated, and parents will be called. There is a very high probability that the camper(s) found to be in possession of these items will be asked to leave the camp immediately, and the proper law enforcement may be contacted. We ask that all campers inform someone on staff if they become aware of other campers being in possession of any banned substances. Any camper who informs a staff member will remain anonymous.

*** Campers will not be allowed to drive themselves to camp. Vehicles will not be allowed to be left at camp throughout the week. We do not want campers to have the ability to leave camp without a staff member being aware of their departure. Campers must be dropped off and picked up by the person registered to pick them up on registration day.

On the Friday of each overnight sports camp week, we host a celebratory banquet for all our campers and parents! The banquet starts at 6:00 PM and features a great meal provided by our Sodexo food services team, followed by a short program where we introduce camp staff, hand out awards to campers and share some camp highlights from the week. This is a great way for parents to see what their kids have been up to during the week. Once the banquet program is finished, a final team picture is taken, and everyone is free to go home. The cost of the banquet is included for all campers, and additional guests are $15 each.
The banquet is not mandatory, and parents can pick up their child at 5:00 PM if they choose not to attend.
